Why go
The showroom places automotive design within a Ginza walk, with a focus on the brand's current presentation rather than a chronological museum.
Field Notes
The space itself is part of Nissan’s presentation. Its design theme is a spiral, intended to suggest movement through past, present and future; the company says the complex form was realised using a digital process also employed in vehicle design. Changing coloured light emphasises the curves, making the architecture worth noticing independently of whichever cars are installed.
The first floor combines the main vehicle stage with a cylindrical display space and a theatre for technology films. Upstairs, the Spiral Stage offers another vehicle setting, alongside the boutique and café. This layout gives a short visit a natural sequence: examine the cars, look at the design presentation, then compare how the upper floor frames them. The distinction matters in a branded showcase where the building, media and objects work together to communicate an idea of mobility.
