Why go
The collection lets visitors compare Honda's work across two wheels, four wheels and racing rather than focusing on one vehicle category.
Field Notes
The exhibition is arranged as four chronological chapters rather than separate rooms devoted only to motorcycles or cars. Begin on the second floor with Honda’s establishment and early decades, then continue through the 1970s and 1980s before moving upstairs to the period from about 1985 onwards. This order makes it easier to compare the company’s work in different forms of mobility at the same moment in its history. An Audio Story Guide, used with your own smartphone and earphones, adds accounts of selected products and activities. It is useful when you want the people and ambitions behind a machine as well as its specifications. The museum forms part of Mobility Resort Motegi: the operator states that the resort’s admission and parking arrangements apply, with no additional Collection Hall admission charge.
Planning Notes
Suggested time on site: 1.5–2.5 hours. Keep travel and waiting time separate from that estimate.
Timing noted for this stop: Opening hour on a weekday.
Access reference: Motegi Station + taxi / Mobility Resort Motegi. Check the final walking or connecting leg when choosing your route.
Schedule checked October 2, 2026: the museum’s own calendar publishes opening hours for October 2–31; November and December museum hours remain unpublished in this review. Museum entry is included with the applicable resort admission, with parking charged separately. MotoGP runs October 2–4 and SUPER GT November 7–8; check race/event admission terms rather than assuming ordinary resort tickets provide access. A museum last-entry cutoff has not been verified.
