Necessary cookies and storage
The site uses necessary cookies and closely related browser storage for sign-in, form security, account state, secure browser sessions, and essential interface preferences. These functions are required for authenticated or security-sensitive features and cannot be disabled through optional-cookie controls while continuing to use those features.
Anonymous Traveler storage
If you use eligible save features while signed out, the site may create a temporary Anonymous Traveler profile. Necessary browser storage connects the browser to that temporary profile and may retain the profile’s recovery PIN on that browser so it can be displayed in Settings. The associated Traveler Code/PIN and browser-session features expire with the temporary profile, which has a fixed 15-day lifetime. Clearing this storage can disconnect the browser from the profile; a valid Code/PIN can be used to restore an unexpired profile.
Signed-in session storage
When you sign in, necessary session storage keeps the browser authenticated and connects it to the site’s session-security record. Changing a password, resetting a password, signing out, or using the session-management controls may rotate or revoke that browser session.
Optional categories
Cookie Settings records optional choices on this browser. Optional partner content and affiliate-attribution technologies are enabled by default where applicable law permits. Active Members can turn this category off on their browser. In the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, optional partner attribution remains off until the visitor affirmatively enables it. Supported browser privacy signals may also prevent activation. When optional partner content is disabled across the site, this technology stays off for everyone regardless of browser preference.
Japan external transmissions
For access from Japan, certain optional partner technologies may cause information stored on or generated by your browser or device to be transmitted to an external service provider for affiliate-link conversion, attribution, measurement, security, and related service operation. The categories of information and the current recipient and purposes are listed in our External Transmission Disclosure. Japan remains on the site's default-on path for this optional technology, subject to the controls described above.
Third-party links and sign-in
Following a third-party travel or affiliate link takes you to that provider, where its own cookie and privacy practices apply. Google sign-in is initiated only when you choose the Google sign-in option and then proceeds on Google’s service. Other embedded or requested third-party features may be governed by the provider’s own storage practices.
Change your settings
Clearing browser storage may remove your saved cookie-preference choice, end your signed-in session, or disconnect the current browser from an Anonymous Traveler profile.
