Why go
Use the lawn as a place to slow down during a central Fukuoka walk, then explore the park's riverside side for a different view. The Kihinkan and neighboring commercial facilities have separate visiting arrangements; an open park does not establish access to their interiors. Cherry blossoms are a seasonal addition to the landscape rather than the only reason to visit.
Planning Notes
Suggested time on site: 1–1.5 hours. Keep travel and waiting time separate from that estimate.
Timing noted for this stop: Spring for cherry blossoms; Kihinkan interiors open 09:00–18:00, closed Mondays (next day if holiday). Park walks have separate access.
Access reference: Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station; about 3 minutes on foot, or Tenjin Subway Station in about 5 minutes. Check the final walking or connecting leg when choosing your route.
Kihinkan, the historic building within the park, opens 09:00–18:00; closed Mondays (the following day when Monday is a holiday) and December 29–January 3. Its opening and ticket rules do not apply to ordinary park walks. Hareno Garden restaurants also keep individual hours.
