Chiba Park - visitor guide

千葉公園

Chiba Park brings Watauchi Pond, open lawns and seasonal planting close to the city's central transport district. Its Oga lotus collection connects the landscape with plants revived from ancient seeds, giving the summer flowers a story beyond their appearance. Plan around the actual flowering season if lotus is the priority; the pond and wider park remain the basis of the walk.

Why go

The Oga lotus gives an urban park visit a specific botanical history, while the pond provides a focus outside the flowering season.

Planning Notes

Suggested time on site: 1.5–3 hours. Keep travel and waiting time separate from that estimate.

Timing noted for this stop: For Oga lotus, favor 06:00–09:00 in mid-June–early July; flowers close by about 11:00. Check the season’s boardwalk opening notice.

Access reference: Chibakoen Station on the Chiba Urban Monorail; the park is immediately west of the station. Check the final walking or connecting leg when choosing your route.
