Okage Yokocho - visitor guide

おかげ横丁

Beside the approach to Ise Jingu's Inner Shrine, Okage Yokocho recreates the merchant-town setting associated with pilgrimage to Ise. Regional food, craft shops and period-style buildings give the quarter its character. Pair a browse here with the shrine approach while recognizing that this is a recreated streetscape, not an untouched historic block.

Why go

The quarter gives an Ise shrine visit a complementary focus on pilgrimage-related food and commerce.

Planning Notes

Suggested time on site: 1.5–3 hours. Keep travel and waiting time separate from that estimate.

Timing noted for this stop: October 10, 11 and 24, 2026 offer general-shop hours until 18:30. Most October days end 17:30; restaurants open individually.

Access reference: Isuzugawa Station - bus toward Naiku-mae; beside the Inner Shrine approach. Check the final walking or connecting leg when choosing your route.

For October 2026, the operator confirms general shops open 09:30–18:30 on October 10, 11 and 24. The October 23 table also says 18:30, but that date is absent from the notice’s exception summary; confirm directly before relying on a late visit that day. Restaurant opening times vary. First-of-month dawn trading is announced separately; annual seasonal hours should not be assumed to cover those exceptions.

Seasonal general-shop closing is 17:00 November–February, except February weekends/holidays at 17:30; March–July and October at 17:30, except April–July weekends/holidays at 18:00; August–September at 18:00. First-of-month and special-event schedules may differ.
