Asahikawa Winter Festival - plan your visit 2027: Dates, Venue & Visitor Guide
旭川冬まつり
Asahikawa Winter Festival is known for snow sculpture on an imposing scale, with winter attractions and related ice displays adding variety to the city’s cold-season celebrations. The appeal lies in seeing snow treated as both building material and public art, with a programme that changes from edition to edition.

What to know before you go.
Asahikawa’s deep winter gives the festival its setting, but individual sculptures, stages and activities need to be read from the current programme. The organizer has announced the 2027 dates while further details follow separately. Plan around the published venue map and available transport, leaving time to warm up between outdoor stops.
Event dates, access and crowd controls can change. Verify with the organizer before committing non-refundable travel.
